Questions
Which Macs does it run on?
PullCord needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. On macOS 26 and later it uses the new Liquid Glass look.
macOS says it can't check PullCord. Is it safe?
Yes. PullCord is in beta and isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to allow it once: open PullCord, click Done, then click Open Anyway in System Settings, Privacy & Security. The finished app will be signed and notarized, so it opens right away.
Why does it ask to control System Events?
That is how PullCord switches the appearance, the same way Shortcuts or AppleScript can. macOS asks once, the first time you pull, and you can change it any time in Privacy & Security.
Does it collect any data?
No. PullCord has no accounts, no analytics and no network requests. Your cord and settings stay on your Mac.
Can I still switch the normal way?
Of course. Pulling the cord sets Light or Dark mode exactly like choosing it in System Settings, so both always agree.
Can I turn the sounds off?
Yes. Sounds, their volume and the haptic tap on Force Touch trackpads are all in PullCord's settings.
